MCC Delegation Meets Government,
Public, and Private Sector for Consultations
A senior, five-person delegation from the Millenium Challenge
Corporation (MCC) is visiting Timor-Leste this week for consultations
with a broad range of stakeholders, including top-level Government
officials, civil society, the private sector, and the donor
community. Timor-Leste first qualified as a compact-eligible
country in FY 2006 and maintained eligibility in FY 2007 in
spite of the political and security crisis that began in April
2006 and continues today. Timor-Leste must maintain strong performance
on MCC's selection criteria to remain eligible for MCA funds.
