Linking
Up Anti-Corruption Officials with Peers in the Region
Key staff of the Office of the Provedor,
Timor-Leste’s principal oversight institution, recently
concluded their study tour to the Philippines, the third and
final leg of the comparative study series of best practices
in anti-corruption in the region organized by USAID partner
Management Sciences Development (MSD). The Provedor himself
led the Timorese delegation. Earlier study tours were conducted
in Indonesia and Malaysia. The Philippines tour focused on partnerships
between the government, civil society, Church, media and academe,
which have resulted in innovative approaches to control corruption.
The study tour was co-funded with the World Bank. (Augusty 21,
