Skills
Development Course for Provedor Anti-Corruption Investigators
A skills development program for anti-corruption investigators
of the Provedor’s Office is currently underway. Fourteen
(14) investigators from the Provedor’s anti-corruption
and good governance units are participating in the one and a
half year training course composed of three training modules.
The course makes use of formal lectures, practical exercises
and hands-on mentoring operations to develop basic investigation
skills and enhance the capacity of the Provedor’s office
to conduct anti-corruption investigations. The Provedor’s
Office is an independent state institution with a constitutional
mandate to fight corruption, promote good governance and address
human rights violations. The course is being implemented with
technical and funding assistance from the World Bank and Management
Sciences for Development (MSD). MSD is implementing USAID's
Justice Institutions Strengthening Program in Timor-Leste. (September
