Stakeholders Discuss Approaches for Water and Sanitation Project (November 25, 2008)

USAID held a nationwide stakeholders’ workshop to introduce its four-year, $20 million water and sanitation project. Representatives from the relevant government offices led by the Secretary of State for Electricity, Water and Urbanization, as well as international and national NGOs active in the water and sanitation area, participated in the workshop to discuss strategic approaches and lessons learned. Timor-Leste has exceptionally low water supply and sanitation coverage, and USAID’s District Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Services program supports the government’s agenda to improve rural communities’ access to potable water.
