U.S. Ambassador Briefs Development Partners on MCC Threshold Program (6 January 2009)

U.S. Ambassador Hans G. Klemm began laying the groundwork for the development of an MCC threshold program in a briefing to the international community. Timor-Leste was not deemed eligible for compact assistance in FY 2009 due to its performance on the Control of Corruption indicator and the Investing in People category of indicators. However, it was offered the opportunity to develop a threshold program to improve its performance to become compact eligible in the future, and the Government has committed to doing so.
