USAID's Community Agriculture Project Shines at World Food Day Expo / USAID Nia Projetu Agrikultura Komunitaria Hetan Susesu Iha Expozisaun

At a World Food Day exposition sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, a key participant was Kmanek Supermarket, one of Dili's largest food retailers. Kmanek works closely with USAID's Community Agricultural Development project by purchasing vegetables from participating farmers. Kmanek's display not only promoted the value-chain partnership with local farmers but also sold fresh vegetables from project farmers. Eight lead farmers attended the expo to learn more about market demands as well as the processing, packaging and retail sales of their vegetables.
